Myia’s favorite part about working for Southern Christian Services are the families. She says, “Sometimes the circumstances in which you meet a family aren't all too great; however, once you begin working with them and assisting them in overcoming their challenges the joy and gratitude that you see is a great reward. Seeing a family come from feeling defeated due to various challenges and barriers to one that is empowered and inspired; is the main reason why 13 years later I still love my career.”
Myia’s day-to-day work consists of working with families that have finalized adoptions by assisting them with community resources, behavior modification skills, and family preservation and permanency. She has a network of community partners that help provide resources and meet the needs of families they serve. Myia enjoys working for Southern Christian Services, she states, “I work for SCS because I admire the dedication and compassion they share with empowering youth and families towards a healthier and safer lifestyle. I admire their commitment to be present and available for the children they serve and how they plant the seed of "family" in all of their lives.”
Myia’s favorite quote is, “Be Still and Know That I Am God (Psalms 46:10) Southern Christian Services is grateful to have Myia on the team. She is someone you want to get to know and be a part of her life. SCS appreciates all that you do.
