Resource Guide
Southern Christian Services for Children and Youth, Inc. provides children and family services throughout the State of Mississippi. Licensed by the Mississippi Department of Human Services and certified by the Mississippi Department of Mental Health and accredited by the Council of Accreditation (COA), Southern Christian is a member agency of the Mississippi Association of Child Caring Agencies and is an affiliate of the National Benevolent Association of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) as well as a member of Disciples Care Network. The following is a resource guide for those within the communities and surrounding areas in which we serve, specifically the areas around Jackson, Tupelo, and Gulfport. For more information, go to SCSCY website: https://www.scscy.org
Adoption from Foster Care
Southern Christian Services for Children and Youth, Inc's Adoption Program places children with special needs in permanent homes through adoption. We believe that every child has the inherent right to the security and stability of a permanent home. For those children who cannot stay with their biological families, permanent ties to new families must be established. Services are provided to both the adoptive parents and the child to establish their new, permanent relationship.

Therapeutic Foster Care
Therapeutic Foster Care is a community-based approach to caring for children and adolescents with emotional and/or behavioral problems in the least restrictive environment. Therapeutic Foster Care seeks to combine elements of residential treatment and the foster family environment into a model of foster family-based treatment.
THERAPEUTIC FOSTER CARE | Southern Christian Services for Children and Youth, Inc.
Post Adoption and Respite
The purpose of this program is to strengthen and support Mississippi adoptive and foster families to ensure the safety, permanency, and well-being of the children and youth who are placed with them. We know that no one adopts a child thinking that one-day circumstances become overwhelming. Issues may arise because of trauma the child has suffered, and we want to support you during those times.

Outpatient Trauma Counseling
Our counseling clinics offer evidence-based treatment for children and adolescents (3-23) impacted by trauma and complicated grief. Parents and caregivers can also receive counseling to work on personal issues that stand in the way of achieving their own personal goals as well as family stability. Children from all areas of the state who are victims of crime are eligible to receive counseling and supportive services through the therapeutic foster care programs in Jackson, Gulfport, and Tupelo. In Forest and Metro-Jackson area, children 3-23 who are victims of crime, receive supportive services included evidence-based therapy, regardless of ability to pay.
